THE STORY OF THE MAGIC CHOCOLATE RABBITS
Neoliberalism, the Rabbit Libido and the Children
(Homage by Durito to Westerns. Remember 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'?)

Once upon a time there were three children. One was good, the other was bad and the other was El Sup. Coming from different directions, they arrived at a house and went inside. Inside the house there was nothing but a table. On the table, for each child there was a white plastic tub - the kind that is used to hold water ice or ice-cream. Inside each tub (note: which had no brand name or logo on it) there were two chocolate rabbits and a slip of paper. The paper said:

Instructions for using the two chocolate rabbits:
After twenty-four hours this pair of rabbits will reproduce themselves and have another pair of rabbits. Every twenty-four hours, the pairs of chocolate rabbits that are in the plastic tub will multiply into another pair. Thus the possessor of this magic white plastic tub - the kind that is used to hold water ice or ice-cream - will always have chocolate rabbits to eat.

Each child took a white plastic tub - the kind that is used to hold water ice or ice-cream. The bad child did not wait for 24 hours and ate both the chocolate rabbits. He enjoyed the moment, but then had no more chocolate rabbits. Now he has nothing to eat, but he still has the memory and a nostalgia for chocolate rabbits.

The good child waited the twenty-four hours and realised he now had four chocolate rabbits. Twenty-four hours later he had eight chocolate rabbits. As the months went by, the good child opened a chain of shops to sell chocolate rabbits. After a year, he had branches all over the country. He associated with foreign capital and began exporting. He was nominated 'Businessman of the Year' and became immensely rich and powerful. He sold the chocolate rabbit business to foreign investors, and remained as company manager. He never tasted the chocolate rabbits, so as not to deplete his profits. Now he is no longer the owner of the magic white plastic tub. He does not know the taste of chocolate rabbits.

As for the child El Sup, instead of chocolate rabbits, he put walnut ice-cream in the white plastic tub - the kind that is used to hold water ice or ice-cream. He changed the rules of the story, he packed in half a litre of walnut ice-cream, and ruined the moral of the rabbit story, realising that all the possible outcomes were a trap.

Neo-moral: Walnut ice-cream has dangerous powers against neoliberalism.
